Favorite Parks and Playgrounds
Kensico Dam Plaza, Valhalla: An ever popular destination for the whole family. I love that my three kids ages 2-11 can all find something to do. Bike riding, roller blading, scootering, or just enjoying a lovely stroll are some of the things people like to do here. Two playgrounds entertain children of all ages. Work out your legs climbing the stairs to the top of the dam or head to the easier but still a work-out path on the other side. Either way, you will enjoy a spectacular view from the top of the dam.
John Lyons Park, Port Chester: Nice big playground and swings. Spacious park offers a lot of area to walk or ride around. Seasonal bathrooms. Big beautiful trees, we like to look for hawks now that we have seen some there recently up in the tops of the trees.
Pepsico Sculpture Gardens, Purchase, NY: Finally reopened after years of being closed. Most recent information says that the grounds are open on the weekends only now.
Mamaroneck Harbor Park
Saxon Woods Playground Newly renovated in 2018
Bruce Park, Greenwich CT
Pierson Park, Tarrytown
Croton on Hudson

Outdoor Activities
Audubon Greenwich:The Audubon Greenwich is close to Westchester, only a few minutes from the Westchester Airport. This is a great place to go for a hike, bird watch, take a class (both young and old) or shop in their nature store. They have recently added their new Nature Play Trail where children of all ages can play, explore and have fun. Highlights included a hand water pump and a rocky creek complete with buckets for water play.
Greenburgh Nature Center: Another favorite place to play. Fun for all ages. Besides the beautiful playground they have some sheep, chickens and rabbits as well as some birds of prey. a great place to spend some time walking around, picnicking, hiking and playing. The nature Center itself requires a fee but otherwise the grounds are free. They have a myriad of classes to take throughout the year.
Stamford Nature Center: A nice drive up the Merritt takes you to a wonderful escape. Spend the day walking around admiring the multitude of farm animals. Beautiful grounds, friendly staff and so much fun for children of all ages.
